An account exists for one reason: practising on a laptop and a phone without the two drifting apart. It stores the trainer’s practice schedule and which lessons you have reached the end of. It does not store anything you have written, and there is nothing to buy.
You are not signed in, so everything lives in this browser only. That is the whole site working normally — signing in adds one thing, which is a second device seeing the same practice schedule and the same finished lessons.
A lesson is marked when you reach the end of it and stay there for a moment — not when you open it. Opening a page would make this a visit log, and a visit log called “read” is the kind of number this site exists not to print. You can unmark any lesson from its own page.
It stays separate from the figure in the course bar on purpose. That one counts written lessons — a fact about the course, the same for everybody. This one is about you, and the two are never added together or turned into a percentage. More on how the site works.
